Available for all 1,800 Metered Parking Spots, Zones in the City of Erie

A new parking app, built and designed specifically for the City of Erie, is now available to the public. The Erie parking app, released by meterEZ, originated in Erie and affiliates with weCreate.

MeterEZ designed the mobile parking app to make paying for parking much more convenient in the City of Erie. Users will now be able to pay for parking via a credit card and be notified to add time directly from the app when time is about to expire. This is especially convenient for when a meeting or event runs long, avoiding a potential parking ticket.

All new users will automatically receive $3 in parking credits upon download. Also, meterEZ is offering a $2 refer-a-friend program. To refer someone, navigate to the refer-a-friend page in the menu and type in the friends mobile phone number. When the referred person spends money for the first time, $2 in credits go to whoever sent the referral.

Special Features to Erie Parking App and how to Download

A wallet feature for meterEZ allows users to preload money for parking (minimum $10 deposit). When using the wallet feature of the app, meterEZ users will enjoy lower parking fees. Search “meterez” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the app and start using it today.

When a user initially downloads the app, it will ask for some general information: name, vehicle description, license plate number, and of course a credit card number. Then, simply type in the meter or space number, and buy time. Click on the menu icon to access the wallet feature and keep track of payments, vehicles, and other account information.

Erie Parking Authority employees are carrying tablets with them to look up if a vehicle is paying with the app. All in an effort to avoid the issuance of accidental tickets to vehicles parked at meters registering no time left.

The meterEZ app, available for all of the nearly 1,800 metered parking spots and zones in the City of Erie, works with nearly all smartphones.  Additional municipalities with metered parking spots are scheduled to roll out in the coming months.
